Frozen Jr. — A look at rehearsals!

Looks like Elsa’s blizzard came to Marquette a couple weeks early! SAYT is proud to present Disney’s Frozen Jr. as our 2019 Eighth-Grade-and-Under production. The 72 kids in our cast have been rehearsing their music, choreography, blocking, and lines since September to bring Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life. The performances are getting close now and we are so excited to move into the Forest Roberts Theatre this week!

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at some of what we’ve been up to the last couple months:

Co-choreographers Gracie Fries and Emily Burbey teach “Fixer Upper” to cast members during rehearsal at the Connection Center.
Show posters created by cast members during their offstage time.
Design rendering of Oaken’s Cart.
Here it is! In progress at the scene shop.

Our production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. will be presented at the Forest Roberts Theatre.

*Theatre for All Performance

What is a Theatre for All Performance?
The Theatre for All performance is designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all audience members with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensory sensitivities, and their friends and family! Audiences can expect all the same singing, acting, and dancing of our other performances with slight modifications to the lights and sound.

What You Should Expect
Modifications to the performance include decreased volume and intensity of sound and lighting effects, faintly dimmed house lights that remain on during the performance, and patrons are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance. Quiet and activity areas staffed with specialists will also be available in the lobby.

Hope to see you there!

This production made possible through the support of the Tyler Rigg Foundation, Marquette Hope Connection Center, Kaufman Foundation, Marquette Community Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, Radio Results Network, and TV6.
